With the first signs of Spring we see flowers blooming in our gardens and on floral dresses and tops. We love these flower prints because they are fun, colorful and visually interesting. Floral prints are a tried and true classic that never grows old, only better as fashions evolve.
Some of the dainty floral prints and big flower patterns that we see today are decades old, but their application in design is still fresh and invigorating. Todayโs florals and eclectic styles reflect the modern woman and allow for abundant freedom of expression โ but with freedom comes choices. And your styling choices can make or break an outfit.
Colorful and busy floral prints can be a challenge to accessorize but thatโs no excuse for eliminating jewelry. Jewelry can elevate your look when done well. So what are the best ways to wear jewelry with florals?
Choosing a Necklace for Classic Floral Dresses
Select one color from the floral pattern of your dress or blouse and accentuate it with your jewelry or make a more subdued choice by echoing the dominant color of the dress. A color combination you will see a lot of this year is Serenity blue and Rose Quartz pink. This serene palette lends itself to a classic floral look.

Statement Jewelry for Floral Dresses
Some of us believe that more is more; the appearance of embellishments and statement jewelry in fashion is a fabulous example of this. To put together a look that works, choose one statement piece that mirrors the palette and or feel of your floral outfit, then layer on the loveliness.

These are all so beautiful, Roz! I just get dreamy lost in your jewelry. And I love, love, love my Nixie bracelet! Thank you!
Author
So happy you love your bracelet. Great compliment on our blog ‘dreamy lost in your jewelry’. Have to start collecting these for some future idea. hmmm
Floral patterns are always tricky, thanks for the good advice here Roslyn. And I like the alternative to select one color from the dress you wear and accessorize like that.
Author
Glad we could shed some light on this accessory issue. Thanks, Katarina Andersson for your comment.
Hi Roslyn,
I like a like of the jewelry shown here. Floral clothing? Not for me. The only place one would find anything floral in my house would be flowers in a vase (which I always have in at least one room of the house).

We also love having flowers in our home. Thanks for appreciating our jewelry Rachel Lavern.
I’ve always been a fan of florals and haven’t had any challenges pairing my bracelets and necklaces with them. I generally wear many bracelets and do match the colours in the floral print with the colours of my bracelets. Same with my necklace choices. Having always been a jewelry person, it comes quite naturally for me to match up something that visually works. My mother has always been someone to match her jewelry with her outfits to, and although she isn’t so much of a floral print person, I think I learned the matching lesson from her. Glad to see florals are still in style and back in vogue too. Love the jewelry you matched to the outfits as well, Roslyn.

I think we do pick up fashion habits, choices, interests when we are young. After all, our mother dressed us, so most likely she bought our clothes. Was curious if you liked floral design & obviously you do. It can be tricky for someone who is not a big jewelry lover as you.
Beautiful combinations. I have always tended toward solids, but have to rethink this now. I love the beautiful jewelry and those shoes… Yup. Thank you for opening my eyes to these beautiful outfits and jewelry combinations.
Author
So glad you got value from this post, Lori Labre.
What great combinations of jewelry and florals. I don’t wear much floral clothing, but if I ever have anything on that’s “busy” I tend to shy away from necklaces. I’ll have to give it try next time.
Author
Glad this gave you some food for thought.
I so often avoid wearing jewellery when I’m in florals as I think it will be too busy, but I love your ideas, especially the colour choices. I can see how the right choice can actually enhance the outfit and the accessories. Florals also make me think of summer and holidays – I love the bright, happy colours. Nixie and Raina – absolutely gorgeous – I love the pics of all your beautiful jewellery.

Appreciate your enthusiastic response to this and all our blogs. AS a creative, artistic woman Tamuria, we are so pleased to be able to contribute to you.
I love all of these flower patterns. When I go shopping I always have an issue with finding one I love. So I stick with plain old solids and maybe a little flower patterns. I know for me bright yellow and neon colored flowers don’t look good at all on me. It is frustrating. Thanks for sharing.
Author
Perhaps Sabrina Quairoli, this season you will have better luck when you go shopping and you will find florals you like.
I am not a big floral gal but sometimes I find unique patterns that I cannot resist. I really liked the dress the first dress too and jewelry is divine. Such a beautiful go-to site for finding ideas for special occasions.

Appreciate your compliment Teresa. Thanks so much for your comment.
Now this post is exactly for people like me – those with little or not real fashion sense when it comes on to this level of glamour!!! Thank you! And the pictures are so beautiful! Inspired I am for Spring. ๐

So glad we can shed some light on fashion, jewelry, color coordination Claudette Esterine. It takes practice, like all things.
Good to know. I never wear jewelry with florals because it usually clashes – now I know.

Robin Masshole Mommy, it is tricky to get the right combo with florals. But it can be done.

When young Debbie Denny, your mom chose florals for you. The style has never grown out of fashion & is there for you as an adult. try it again as you might really like it.
I picked up so many tips with your post!!! I would usually just wear metals with a floral print because I thought beaded jewelry would conflict. Now I have even more combinations now. Thanks for the wonderful post.

So pleased Gisele Grenier that you asked this question a long time ago and our content was useful to you. Always happy to satisfy a customer/fan/friend.
These are very beautiful and they go well with the outfits selected. It is not easy to wear jewelry with floral so this is a very welcome post
Author
So glad you appreciate the tips Madeline Carr. It does seem to be a big hit for many.
Floral patterns are so hard to figure out how to accessorize Roz… I would probably wear very simple, gold or silver jewellery. However, you showed us that there are other alternatives. These are great ideas, thank you!
Author
Delia, your experience is the traditional way to wear jewelry with florals. Many fashion bloggers & other jewelry silver designers recommend that, but we saw a possibility to broaden the options, hence this blog. Glad you got some ideas from it.
The Raina necklace and that 70’s floral look is killer. This entire article makes me ready for spring to hurry up and arrive.
Author
Christy, so glad you are loving the floral look. Did you know that all of our jewelry is one-of-a-kind? The Raina necklace is made from Artisan handblown glass & is a unique design.
Beautiful! I love the tip of pulling out one color and working with that. Thanks!
Author
Kimberly, that does make it easier as florals can be tricky to accessorize with.
I’ve always shied away from florals, but you are really tempting me with such beautiful combinations.
Author
Joyce Hanson, give it a try. Stretching ourselves out of the box in any area has a ripple effect.
OMG!! The shoes and the purse are AWESOME!!! Yep even a cowgirl like me can appreciate those beauties…lovely post Roslyn…you have inspired me for an up coming wedding I need to attend…I have the black dress and now I must find those shoes and the right necklace!! GREAT post thank you for this
Author
Lisa, Just a quick note to wish you a wonderful time at the upcoming wedding. Dance your feet off.
PS Roslyn…the necklace that is with the purse and shoes totally ROCKS!!! WOW…when I went back to pin the shoes and purse I saw it …absolutely gorgeous!
Author
My dear friend Lisa of my western heart, I think a beautiful cowgirl like you ought to wear a flower lariat to that wedding.
I used to wear floral prints when I was younger and match them with solid 1 contrasting gemstone jewelry. Nowadays my passion is to find pieces of jewelry in the form of leaves and flowers to enhance the outfit that I am wearing. I loved Serenity Blue and Rose Quartz Pink ensemble. I used to have a dress like that one but in Peacock Blue. Ah, nostalgia!
Author
Vatsala, you have a wonderful eye for jewelry, fashion , gemstones & color. I would love a peak into your jewelry box & wardrobe.
I don’t care much for florals personally but can see where some folks might not be sure what to accessorize them with simply because they are so busy. You’ve shared some good tips.
Author
Thanks, [email protected] Not everyone loves florals and some may stay away because they don’t know how to accessorize. Glad we could provide tips to make it easier.
Love how you keep us up to date on the current fashions, Roz. I’ve always found it difficult to accessorize florals, so this primer was just what I needed. Thanks!
Author
Glad we provided helpful information Carol rundle. Florals can be tricky.
I love the Pink Berry “Whimsicals”: 2.5″ Petal Earrings. I have always preferred long earrings and I do really like how spring like they look. I also love the Cotton Candy: 18″ Orchid Colored Jewelry Set. I would need that necklace in a longer length-18″ is like a choker on me–and I don’t like chokers-other then that it is so very pretty.
Author
Thanks Michele. Our whimsical earrings, as well as our jewelry, are all one-of-a-kind, so if something calls to you…
I love jewelry with florals!! These are all great pieces, I hadn’t see the shoes with the florals before.
Author
Glad we could show you something new Vera Sweeney.
Such a fun, refreshing blog to read on a Spring day! I love all the pictures & jewelry ideas. Thank you!
Author
Yes, Tae Lynne, spring seems to be here to stay & flowers are everywhere.
I’ve wondered about how to accessorize with floral prints. I tend to go with simple, so my choice would be plain beads/stones in an accenting color. The bags and shoes are WAY out of my comfort zone…and honest, I have no desire to leave this particular zone. ๐
Author
Not to fret as you should stay inside your comfort zone Jackie Harder. And you are right on with jewelry & floral prints. Somehow I imagine florals being very popular in Florida.
Thank you for your insights. I tend to shy away from jewlery with a floral print, this helps shine even more beauty.
Author
Natasha Botkin, that was our suspician. Many women shy away from jewelry with florals cause it can be tricky. Gad we were able to shed some light on it.
Roslyn, Your descriptions and your pairings are just so absolutely spot on and enticing. I love this post. Even my 2-year old daughter reached for the floral prints – timeless and feminine! xo, Reba
Author
Thanks so much Reba Linker for your compliments & comments. Thank your daughter as well. So glad you are enjoying our blogs.
I have absolutely no fashion sense so these are great tips for me! I love the dress in the first set of pictures so much. Thanks for sharing these ๐
Author
Jess Benoit, what I’ve learned since creating jewelry is that we do have a sense of what fashions work best for each of us. It may not be high fashion or walkway, but it is your style.
So pretty and I love how you showed us exactly what would go with the floral prints. The jewelry is beautiful. I’ll have to browse around!
Author
Welcome to our website/blog Maureen Campaiola and thank you for the compliment. Hope you find something that suits you.
I’ve never been a huge jewelry wearer, except on special occasions, but some of these combinations are lovely. I love the dress in the first example at the very top!
Author
Emily, that dress appealed to us too and we are glad it showed you how to accessorize for it.You might want to try out wearing some jewelry everyday. It does lift your spirits.
This is great. Accessorizing is always kind of tough
Author
Accessorizing can be tough but once you read more of our blogs you will get the ideas. Thanks Neely Moldovan for your candor.
I MORE OR LESS WEAR PLAIN OUTFITS WITH Gold Jewelry and when I wear a floral I dont accessorize it with colouful jewelry. But you just gave me some ideas Roslyn love them all thanks for the ideas.
Author
You are welcome for the ideas & I think you would really enjoy experimenting with jewelry and fashion.
Well, you lost me at floral… as a big girl.. I am a girlie girl.. but not floraly type.. however… I love your jewels… particularly fond of Nixie and I pinned her. ๐ Thinking if you make something else like that.. not nec turq.. but black and purple.. lol, let me know!
Author
So Kristen Wilson, I would love for you to be sporting an Earth and Moon Design, so I have added a black/purple wrap bracelet to our list. I’ll give you first dibs, however if you really want it, its best I have your wrist measurement. The wrap can go around a few times, but a basic measurement (you might have wrist big bones) with a little slack for comfort. Let me know.
What an insightful and inspiring fashion post! I love all of the pairings and makes me want Spring to arrive so badly (snow storm today!)
Author
I heard Emily that snow is still in parts of the country & in Canada. Soon, Spring will come. It is slowly making its way in NY with crazy fluctuating temperatures. Appreciate your comment and compliment.
I have the hardest time pairing statement pieces with outfits!
Author
Jamie, statement necklaces or as we have shown here, floral prints do take some thought, but with tips and practice, can be done. And then you really acquire a whole new look.
Roslyn, bubbeleh, reading your blog is a dangerous habit! Now I want (need!) a statement necklace. Or two!
Much love to you,
Sue
Author
Anytime Sue Kearney, we are happy to oblige. Love you calling me bubbeleh- a loving Yiddish expression and we only recently met.
Delightful and timely. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I have been noticing Serenity and Rose Quartz everywhere since you mentioned them last week, I think it was. ๐๐
Author
Denise, often that happens when once we learn something, boom it shows up everywhere.
I love the pretty bracelet ideas you suggested! All the ideas are wonderful though.
Author
Thanks Liz Mays for appreciating our blog. Glad you got some tips.
Roslyn – that Clementine: Carnelian Bracelet is a masterpiece. It could be worn in any season, with casual to more formal. I simply love the color combinations. I would tend to NOT wear it with those same colors of clothing, however. I’m not a real Matchy-matchy kind of dresser, but I could see me wearing a peach colored top with the rich browns & ambers of the Clementine piece – & feeling polished & put-together!
Author
Thanks, Joan Potter for your ideas. I love the outfit you created for Clementine and I’d wear it too. Very earthy. I bet if you had time from your nursing career, you would enjoy being a fashion blogger.
Love all these suggestions! Some beautiful ways to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Author
Thanks, Kimba. There are so many ways to welcome a change of season. Why not with fashion & accessories? Glad you like our suggestions.
Tis the season of all things floral so this was some really great fashion advice!! Finding the perfect accessories can be tricky!

Thanks CourtneyLynne for your comment. We do like providing helpful tips and fashion advice so stay tuned for more.
Hi Roslyn,
Your jewelry is beautiful. The Raina necklace was my favorite!
Author
Appreciate your comment & compliment Dave. Your writing is beautiful
Some truly beautiful options here. When I buy a new outfit, I try and get the jewelry at the same time because I am terrible at matching it up.
Author
Welcome Renee Groskreutz to our blog. It is a good idea to know you have jewelry you like with a new outfit. It takes a bit of practice to switch things up and it is worth it because it gives your outfits new looks. And just as you try out options when shopping, you can do that at home with what you already own.
Roz, this is great! I, too like the concept of choosing one color from the floral pattern and accenting with jewelry. Thanks for getting me excited about all the florals coming for Spring and Summer – I can look to pair my earthandmoondesign.com jewelry with new dresses!
Author
So pleased Hope Stanger that this article pleased and excited you. I continue to see so many lovely florals I know you will have a good time shopping. Thanks for your comment.
Floral shirts / blouses and accessories are my favorites not only during Spring but every season. Especially those days with rain, snow and fog a floral purse for example can literally boost my mood and make me smile!
