Summer is Here: Be Inspired

Roslyn Fashion & Jewelry: Your Life in Color beaded Jewelry, inspiration, nature, summer fun

Summer is really here. All across the country we have heat waves, taste of summer restaurant giveaways, blogs with recipes for summer salads, images and enticement for beaches, farmers markets, really fresh fruit and vegetables and lines at ice cream stands. When I think of summer I do think of a lot of these things as well as the changes to our style of dressing.  Usually we wear capris and tees for casual dinners and if we change our outfit, sun dresses or maxis when we want to feel extra feminine. Our closet shows more light or pastel colors and many white choices. And the main noticeable difference is our necklines are lower and we can add some color and interest to our exposed necks. That’s when owning some beaded necklaces can make a difference.

Recently on a cruise I noticed a woman staring at me. I stared right back and she smiled and then she complimented me on my necklace. That felt good. Here are two of the necklaces in stock I chose to wear on the cruise, and I thought you’d like to see  how they really make the outfit.

As we traveled sea, sun and blue sky greated us daily refreshing our minds and bodies. There is something about nature that can make people fall in love with colors. Creating or wearing beaded jewelry is a way to express a love of color and nature and I’ve always said I need to treat my eyes to the beauty around me. Working with the natural elements of stone and the color and sparkle of glass beads is magical.

I loved going to work each day for 30 years as a professional career counselor. When I retired, I explored my creativity and regard for crafts until I discovered beading. At age 68 I turned my new found passion- jewelry design, into a business. At age 72 I took on learning about social media marketing and developing my computer skills. I am sharing my journey from inception, to frustration, to elation -in the hope of inspiring others that 'it is not too late to start again'. Welcome to my re-invention!

Thanks Julie Latz for your uplifting comment and compliment. I wasn’t always a lover of color and lived in earth tones. Creating jewelry changed that and I’m so happy. Now when I look in my closet I see, aqua, turquoise, coral, purple, blues in addition to gray, black, white, browns. And these colors change with the seasons.

You do know me Pat Moon. I was wishing I had brought some beads and tools with me. Instead I wrote ideas down. Now getting ready to create. Thanks for your comment.

Veronica- like all vacations I had to limit the number of outfits I packed and it was easy to pair them with jewelry. Thanks for your comment.

  4. Very inspiring designs and I also read your BIO and it inspired me much! Would love to have a short chat with you one day, Roslyn. You truly inspire me. 🙂

    1. Tina, I don’t usually wear the pieces I create. I chose just a few from inventory as I wanted to see them with different outfits and had ideas for posts and blogs. Unfortunately, some photos were not usable. I polished these 2 up and back in stock for sale. Thanks for your compliment.

  5. I recently wrote an article about ways to enjoy summer – but I never thought of celebrating the season with fun jewelry in inspirational summer colors. What a great idea!

Hi Julie Gorges, I do remember reading your article and made note I could do with a few mini vacations. Guess we could collaborate as I’m still writing about summer and jewelry. Thanks for your comment.
