I hope wherever you are the temperatures are warming and the snow has melted. In some parts of the country, grass is growing, birds are chirping, crocus bursting upward. We feel energized by the rebirth around us, hopeful for new exciting opportunities ahead. We have more pep in our step and look forward to lighter clothing and the warmth of the sun. Our eyes are pleased as a multitude of color around us, especially green, replaces the dreary white, grey and brown blanket of winter. What color do you associate with Spring? Right- Usually, it is the color green.
What Do We Know About the Color Green?
Green is the color of nature, fertility, life, balance and harmony. Green symbolizes self-respect, well being and it also means learning and growth. I read that green is a safe color; if you don’t know what color to use anywhere use green. Green is favored by well balanced people and often symbolizes money. It renews and restores depleted energy and is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. This is why there is so much of this relaxing color on the earth. In fact, grass green is known to be the most restful shade of all the colors.
This graphic from The Land of Color reveals some interesting information about you if spring green is your favorite color.
From a color psychology perspective, it is the great balancer of the heart and emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart. Green is an emotionally positive color, giving us the ability to love and nurture ourselves and others unconditionally, a natural peacemaker.
Don’t feel badly if green is not your favorite color!
All of the above is almost universal and yet despite loving Spring, some of us do not love the color green. It is not our personality color. Definitely not mine, however this Spring I will purchase a grass green or kelly green top to coordinate with all the bold colors I see in fashion. They are showing bright green with navy, yellow and orange. I fell in love with the color as it showed up in semi-precious stones and beads when designing green necklaces for our spring collection: Earth and Moon Design – Spring Collection

Green also looks great with your coloring Martha Giffen. Thanks for your comment.
I have always liked all shades of green. It has always been one of my favorite colors. I looked through your spring collection which is gorgeous. Choosing one with green as my favorite is very difficult. I really like Green Acres, and I also like the Malachite and Aventurine necklace set. I also like the crystal necklace set with the greens and purples, one of my favorite color combos.
So many pretties!

Thanks Norma, I did put a lot of effort into this one. Have been upping my game last few blogs so I’m happy to see it received well and appreciated. What I mean is, I like to tell a story, mainly based on my own experience and for a long time my blogs were like that. Now, I want to still tell a story but with more actual content. Glad it’s working.
Such an interesting article, Roslyn! I like green. Many years ago my foster mom gave me a green pearl necklace. I had never seen anything like it and I love it. It’s a great color for all seasons.
Green is a great color. Although when I was reading about green’s qualities, it very much resonates with me. Thanks for the heartfelt post!

Our goal is to keep our pieces affordable so many women can enjoy them. We use semi precious stones in many of our designs, or hand blown glass to make these beautiful designs.

You are welcome A.Lynn Jesus. I wanted to do purple, my favorite color but purple is not Spring. Maybe in the future I will. What are your other brand colors with green?
From the time I was little, green was my favorite color. I don’t remember it being a conscious decision, it just “was.” Then, as an adult I thought about where I had been happiest in all the places I had lived, and I realized I had been surrounded by green … either tropical locations or the vineyards of France or somewhere else that was lush. So it’s still my favorite color. And I wear a ton of it … including in my jewelry.
