Happy Holidays

Soon many people all over the world will be celebrating Christmas. I’ll be celebrating the holiday season. I like looking at the world lit up, trees and houses decorated, Xmas music playing everywhere. I even enjoy going to the stores to feel the rush, the energy and excitement of the shopping season. And Yes, I do buy a few new things for myself.

My  wishes are “Happy Holiday,  Have a great Holiday, Seasons Greetings”. I don’t usually say Merry Christmas or Happy Xmas because I want to be inclusive. Why should I make an assumption that the person I’m greeting celebrates Xmas? Maybe they celebrate it more like I do.

I didn’t start off thinking I would write this for my holiday blog. I really wanted to show you a few of our necklaces that remain after the many shows that we did. So, now that I self-expressed, I am going to do what I intended.

These are a few different designs and each one is one-of-a-kind. It’s too late to ship for a Xmas day arrival but not too late to treat yourself to something new to wear over the holidays and into the New Year. You can still enter code: FREESHIP and I’ll be happy to send it out to you. It gives me great pleasure to have fewer pieces shelved and instead, worn and seen by my supporters and fans. I also know owning one of our unique designs will give you great pleasure as it becomes a classic in your wardrobe.

I loved going to work each day for 30 years as a professional career counselor. When I retired, I explored my creativity and regard for crafts until I discovered beading. At age 68 I turned my new found passion- jewelry design, into a business. At age 72 I took on learning about social media marketing and developing my computer skills. I am sharing my journey from inception, to frustration, to elation -in the hope of inspiring others that 'it is not too late to start again'. Welcome to my re-invention!

  1. Beautiful necklaces! I always say Merry Christmas because it’s the core of my beliefs. It’s not meant to offend anyone, but I am being true to who I am in Christ, who is the reason for the season. I never say Xmas (well except for now). Wish you all the best for the season!

I do understand Veronica and we all need to be true to our beliefs. There is no right or wrong here.I hesitated to abreviate the word Christmas as I know many don’t like that but I chose to go with the intent of editing. Enjoy your holidays. It will be here very sooon.

Ahh Alexandra- my error. We have several views of this and I chose to post one that created interest. It is a necklace with matching earrings. The lampwork beads shown are the focal point of the necklace and I did want to focus on their beauty. I found the artist who hand blows these glass beads on Facebook and I am a regular customer. Just ordered a few more.

Thanks Robert for your reply. I don’t turn on music that much so I guess thats why Im ok with it. At many craft shows, they play Christmas songs and I do like hearing them at this time of year. Familiar and gets you into the season and spirit.

  2. Very pretty designs. I like the idea of getting a treat for yourself during this busy time. Too many people neglect themselves and are left feeling exhausted and drained during a time that should be fun!

  3. Beautiful necklaces!!! I agree with Veronica that I always say Merry Christmas. As long as it’s good enough for the gov’t and businesses to shut down it’s good enough for me to wish them a very Merry Xmas day!!!!

  4. If the pieces that came home from the shows are this beautiful, Roz, I can only imagine what went off to new homes to grace women’s necklines over the holiday season! You and your daughter must take great joy in knowing the pleasure you’re offering with each of your pieces. To you and yours, may your celebrations be exactly what you want them to be! (I gave up assuming everyone was going to celebrate anything in any traditional manner when I stopped doing so myself … and started inventing my own special traditions!)

    1. Thank you Sharon for ‘getting’ my point. We do about 12 shows Nov- mid Dec and many ladies see our jewelry. We get compliments, oohs and ahhs and some do go home with the right person for just the right reasons. Unfortunately we have a huge overstock, so I’ll be planning something special for my fans, friends, followers, subscribers in the New Year. Not unlike retail fashion stores, we do need to make room for a new season.

Have a wonderful holiday. We are changing our traditional outing this year and am looking forward to a day at the movies.

  5. What a wonderful article, Roslyn. I love the pearl neclace with the stones, too. Stunnung! I also love your video. It adds that important personal touch. Well done and happy holidays to you!

    1. Thanks Robin Strohmaier, I added the video as a last minute touch. Believe it or not, I do sometimes am hesitant to promote myself. Glad you appreciated the article. Was hoping I hadn’t offended anyone.

Happy Holidays to you and yours and all who read the comments.

    1. Thanks Gilly, I was just thinking I might go heavier on content with few images of our jewelry in the new year. Don’t want to appear too salesy. Guess I’ll find the balance. Good to know you appreciate seeing our jewelry.
