Be a Winner

Roslyn Contests & Offers beaded Jewelry, Christmas, Handmade Jewelry

Everyone wants to be a winner and in this case, win the necklace of their choice.  But what does it really mean to be a winner?  Is winning a matter of luck? Are we competing in order to win against others or against ourselves and can we improve our chances of winning?

Most of us have memories of learning to play simple board games and wanting badly to win. And sometimes we did but suspected our grandparent of letting us win. As we grow up hopefully we balance the risk of playing to win against the shame or upset over losing.
Have you ever won anything; a pie eatting contest, a book, a free ticket? How did it feel?

When I created this contest, I thought about these issues. I wondered if you won the necklace of your choice where would you wear it?  Who would say ‘Oh I never win anything” ? And so I decided to give everyone an opportunity to be a winner!

THE WINNER of The NECKLACE CONTEST IS……. Terri Lind Davis
of Terri Davis Art & Design.

The necklace she chose is #1 Lime Green and Purple

I loved going to work each day for 30 years as a professional career counselor. When I retired, I explored my creativity and regard for crafts until I discovered beading. At age 68 I turned my new found passion- jewelry design, into a business. At age 72 I took on learning about social media marketing and developing my computer skills. I am sharing my journey from inception, to frustration, to elation -in the hope of inspiring others that 'it is not too late to start again'. Welcome to my re-invention!

Tina, Thank you so much for playing. Sorry you didn’t win nor chose to purchase the one you liked. My hubby did the random selection and I had 2 groups playing. Will be running more contests in 2015 so anything can happen.

  1. Great contest! Once I commented that I’d never won the prize that we had chances to win in a monthly group. I shouldn’t have mentioned it in front of the hostess because she reacted with surprise. (I’d attended many more meetings than there were members.) That day I won and I think the hostess rigged it. I have never felt good about that!

An interesting experience Beth Niebuhr. Another way of looking at it is she really wanted you to have a winning experience. Maybe she rigged it, but so what- she was doing a random act of kindness. Sorry you didnt win this contest. Thanks for playing. Seasons greetings.

Glad I got the hype going. It means I’m getting the knack of promoting and marketing. They all talk about the buzz & if you couldn’t wait to see who won, looks like my buzz was working. Sorry you didn’t, maybe next time.

  3. Congratulations to the winner! Your jewelry pieces are just as lovely as you are. I played a lot of sports, so I am fairly competitive. But I play well, then I don’t care so much if I win or lose, as long as I tried my best and gave my all.
