Autumn Everywhere

Roslyn Fashion & Jewelry: Your Life in Color Autumn, Fall, fall colors, inspiration

It’s that time of year when Autumn has officially arrived. I looked everywhere for signs, sights, smells, colors and then on my social media platforms. As I scrolled through images on Pinterest and Tumblr I just had to stop looking at my feed. I couldn’t wait to feel the crunchy leaves, sip the hot drinks with a slice of pumpkin pie, throw on a hand knit sweater, sit by a fire with a cozy wrap, take long walks on leaf strewn trails, ride to the nearest apple orchard, greet the neighborhood children on Halloween and watch hubby watch football games on tv. But I hadn’t yet paid homage to Autumn.

Cozy Fallcollage

Fall is such a magical season

Although in the process of designing a fall collection of new necklaces, I realized we weren’t quite ready to release them. How else could I express my awe of the season? Knowing fall images are so calming and simultaneously stimulating, I continued my scrolling and searching for those images that lit me up, that expressed the emotions of joy, excitement, aliveness, change and more. With this in mind, I put together several collages to bring  you images of Autumn as it surrounds us; in our homes, our clothes, accessories, and gloriously in nature. So grab a special cup of coffee like mine and I truly hope you enjoy my selections.

I loved going to work each day for 30 years as a professional career counselor. When I retired, I explored my creativity and regard for crafts until I discovered beading. At age 68 I turned my new found passion- jewelry design, into a business. At age 72 I took on learning about social media marketing and developing my computer skills. I am sharing my journey from inception, to frustration, to elation -in the hope of inspiring others that 'it is not too late to start again'. Welcome to my re-invention!

  1. My favorite time of the year! We drove through a lot of turning leaves a week and a half ago, coming home from Park City, UT. That is always such a joy. Your collages are really nice.

  2. Thanks for the beautiful images of fall. In AZ we are still in beautiful summer mode. I never looked forward to fall because it meant going back to school (even as the principal!). But now I’m “into it”! I especially like the football games and the accompanying food!

  3. Beautiful images and colours. Fall is my favourite time of year. I’m luck to live in a part of the world where fall really shines and the changing leaves are glowing. The leaves haven’t peaked yet but they will soon.

  4. It is so interesting to hear how much people love autumn, Roslyn. The colour palette is lovely, I agree, however, it is generally a sad time of year for me knowing the sun and the warmth are departing for many months. I am happy to hear about the folks who have fond and wonderful memories of autumn, and I am working on transforming that in myself each year. Love the images in this blog post and reading other people’s experiences of autumn is lovely too.

Beverley Golden, so hope you can transform your relationship to fall.Yes,I too miss when the sun, light and warmth disappear. Autumn prepares me for the cold winter months with all its specialness. I love layering and snuggling into warm clothes in winter; I actually like snow- not the cold temperatures but the snow itself. Thanks for your heartfelt comment.

  6. My, your description of Fall makes we happy we are here. Fall here in New Mexico is truly a reminder that colder weather is near. I love summers in NM and do mourn its loss a bit. When we are in California, the summer’s are too hot so Fall is quite welcome. Fall is my next to favorite season in CA because we usually start to have relief from the summer heat. There is no perfect place or climate so let’s just enjoy Fall right now. You have made it very inviting.

  7. You are too funny.. paying homage to Autumn! lol I was originally from Cali and we didn’t have the changing colors or seasons in So Cal. When I moved to Virginia in 2000, I began to enjoy the joy of the leaves and colors around me, but was not too happy about the cold. Now in Texas, I think we lost the changing seasons and colors and it’s all flat… so I am living vicariously through your season then! lol But I can do without the football and the cold.. thank you! lol

Must be the demise and then rebirth; you know the cycles of life and I feel it more in fall. You were my onlyy reader to pick up on it, so an extra thanks.

Thanks Tammie- So happy we connected and my blog showed up at just the right moment. As I look out my office windo the sun is shining but the nip is inside my house. I’m layered up. Thanks for your comment and compliment.

  9. I think fall is just beautiful, but my favorite season is Spring. I try to enjoy the moment with fall because of the leave changes, but the reality is all I can think about is the snow I am about to experience. I keep saying I am going to go to a slightly warmer place, but I am stuck in good ole’ Cleveland. It is still beautiful though and my kids love it!!
