They say it takes a village to raise a child.

The same could be said for creating a brand. And when you rebrand you have many people whose efforts you deeply appreciate. It even started with my fans who played a Guess the Name Game Contest on my Facebook page . I had so much fun inventing clues and hints for fans who struggled to guess so they could win a $20 coupon. It took 6 days of visual and text clues for Veronica Solorzano Athanasiou from Greece to be the winner. Holiday show schedule is in motion as the process of rebranding continues. Earth and Moon Design conjures up many images and possibilities for logos which will be designed.

Where do I start?

None of this could have happened without  support and teachings along the way. I limped along building my fan base on Facebook until I found Kelly Paul of DirectlySuccessful. Her specialty is in direct sales and although I was a small business entrepreneur, I knew many of her clients were part of home and catalogue jewelry companies. After I took her 30 day Honey Badger Facebook course my page soared  and I gained confidence to learn technical things through her video tutorials.

How could I make my Fan Page Interesting?

Photo shop was too hard. Pic monkey seemed too limiting. How else could I learn graphics? In stepped Johnie-Louise  of Fan Page Envy who taught me graphics through her video course. To this day, I have so much fun and pleasure creating original posts and it looks like you like them too.

Given my product was a visual one, Pinterest was a compatible platform and  Melanie Duncan, the queen of Pinterest gave me tools through webinars and modules to get that going.

People- Without them where would I be?

And the fabulous people  I met through groups led by Norma Dorion of SavvyBiz Solutions, Kelly Paull’s Honey Badgers, and Keri Francek Jaehnig of IdeaGirlMedia in her Likeable League group. The support, tips and encouragement to keep learning and growing to reach this day was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Made some wonderful online friends along the way and someday hope we can even meet face to face. Actualy two are coming to New York and plans to meet are underway.

My Ultimate Gratitude/Appreciation  goes to:

Once again, my deepest thanks to Kittie Walker of Avidmode, UK for all she did that came from her generous spirit, patience and extraordinary talent. So often we contract for X and we get X, Y and Z. A weekly highlight was our Skype sessions, getting trained in keyword research, brainstorming and leaving all the technical stuff behind. As we went along, Beth and I had zillions of questions and Kittie patiently explained and taught, in email and often on our calls.

I coud write a separate appreciation blog as an ODE to Kittie and I may just do that down the line. There aren’t enough words to describe our gratitude toward her, for all she did and all she did that was unknown to us. And she worked with us with ease, having a calming effect on our partnership. She continues to guide, teach and hold our hands. Someday, I know she will set us free to glide on our own.

The Planets Aligned

Yes, One might say everything aligned for us to move forward in creating a new company, new name, new website, new skills, new plan and launch on Nov.1, 2013. The  rebranding process is set in motion as we soar through Earth and Moon Design.

I loved going to work each day for 30 years as a professional career counselor. When I retired, I explored my creativity and regard for crafts until I discovered beading. At age 68 I turned my new found passion- jewelry design, into a business. At age 72 I took on learning about social media marketing and developing my computer skills. I am sharing my journey from inception, to frustration, to elation -in the hope of inspiring others that 'it is not too late to start again'. Welcome to my re-invention!

  1. Such kind words, thank you Roz. It was a pleasure working on this project with you both. I’ve known you for a few years now and have watched your journey unfold. It was a pleasure to work on this project with you both, you are an inspiration.

  2. Roz- you are such a determined woman and WOW look how very far you have come this year! You have contributed to bettering the HB101 course through your questioning of things that just didn’t make sense. You taught me (many times over) that I skip over topics that I think are obvious and helped make the course one that even absolute beginners can succeed in.

I absolutely LOVE your new brand and can’t wait to see where you take it in 2014!

Many blessings to you and Beth in your journey forward!

    xoxo- Kelly

      Kelly,
They say people enter our lives for a reason. I would NOT be where I am today had I not taken a leap of faith and registered in your course. You offered me my $ back when I started out, confused, overwhelmed and stuck in my technology craziness and fortunately my ‘determination’ didn’t let me quit.

I’m sure I will continue to learn with you. Thanks again.

  3. Roslyn, your new site is so beautiful. I love the colors, your graphics – your total new rebranding! YOU are inspiring. I know you will totally motivate others who think they cannot achieve success in new ventures, no matter the age. Keep on doing what you do, your work is beautiful! 🙂

PS: Thanks for the mention. I appreciate you a lot! <3

Norma, it wasn’t that long ago when I joined your amazing group and was overwhelmed by how to do the different daily tasks. You moved me along when I would have left the group. So happy I stuck it out as you inspire me and many others. Again, Thanks.

  4. Roz you have done amazing things this last year. You are so inspiring and fun to be with when we’re all learning something new.

You’ve asked questions that helped everyone grow making you a most valuable resource.

Keep growing! Love you doll..to the moon snd bsck again… <3

  5. Dear Roslyn,

This is such a beautifully written post. I wanted to sit down and enjoy the read before replying and really did! You are such an inspiration to all of us and I’d like to congratulate you and wish you all the best in your life this coming 2014.

Can’t wait to wear your beautiful creation on this side of the world. Maybe we can make the Earth and Moon align towards the Mediterranean and have a coffee one day not far from now by its shores.

      Dear Veronica,

I am so moved by your reply to this blog. I find when I write from the heart, it flows. We have been to the Mediterranean shores twice and would come again and this time to meet you. Maybe if shipping doesn’t work out, I’ll have to hand deliver your necklace (haha).

Thank you Robin, Written expression is not my favorite, however I see when writing from the heart, the words are easy. I am so enjoying blogging. My list of favorite things to do nowadays is evolving.

  8. It is so great to see people from all around the world coming to help and sharing experience with you. This is the power of social media! Your website looks great, Roz!

  9. Roz, how lovely that you called out to each person who helped get you as far as you’ve come. The only person you forgot to call out to … was yourself! Thanks to your perseverance, determination and probably even some “pig-headed-ness,” look at what you have achieved. Brava!
